Seven islands in Rajasthan

February 2018, on a Sunday winter afternoon while exploring the flee market at Jaisalmer, I got lucky to find few old prints of a map of Seven Island of Bombay. I was more than happy to buy these prints because the hangover the ’Shantaram’  which l completed many years ago.

Walking a few steps further I stumbled upon a toy store and the shopkeeper was super convinced that I would buy something. Though I was only there for shooting his toys he was curious to know about the lenses I was shooting with. This was near the old market area which still retains the  vintage charm as is.
Twenty minutes later I ended up buying a used/second-hand Chevrolet Suburban 1950 a scale model, and some more wooden toys as we exchanged numbers. The vintage model was made my day as I got busy shooting this miniature against the lovely back drops of huge palaces.

Cut to – Bangalore, year 2022
Found the map in one of my book, kept as a book mark. It was same time while I was fiddling with some bike parts.
And I found this wooden box was loaded with the same vintage car, some random metal parts. I figured out, all these were the perfect ingredients to cook something vintage with a pinch of rustic charm and garnished with nostalgia.
The title for the artifact is also derived from the fact that one can quickly get teleported by a single glance
