Art that inspires

Carpe diem – second edition

Here’s another recent art installation for a dear friend. A themed wall clock with a deeper meaning on the outside
and it only gets deeper when pondered well. The gist of the art-piece, as it appears that two men are cycling in opposite direction. Which in result is keeping the momentum – lively.

The cyclists on either sides signify past and future, which is being orchestrated under – Carpe diem, highlighting – seize the day! Somehow breaking the myth that we think life is linear.

Epilogue – It all started when I was dismantling a broken alarm clock. This was nothing less than discovering a treasure. Placing them (accidentally) on the grill of a discarded table fan is all it took – to get going!

Months later I got more and more curious in solving the puzzle or perhaps handcrafting one! This vintage styled
clock – comprises of broken toys, e-waste, automobile parts and more. The colour palette is a result of multiple attempts that I made over last few months.

The wooden box was crafted using small ‘legs’ of antique corner table. By the way – do try to spot a gas burner in
this maze of wheels. Overall this artwork is made using 300+ tiny parts of discarded object consisting metal, plastic, wood etc. The dimension are 4x5ft approx.
