Art that inspires

Sphera International, Bangalore, 2023

Sphera – Logo, Crafted mainly using 100s of wrist-watch parts collected over a decade and other found materials. The artefact is aimed to encourage and appreciate the art of recycling – Highlighting the core values of Sphera. October2017, when I was crafting another artwork : Buddha using around thousands of discarded e-waste. I was still left with a box full of tiny watch cells, weighing some 4-5kgs. Completely clueless when would I used the left of junk.  Cut to May 2023, World Environment Day – I bag a golden opportunity to create artefacts for Sphera, Bangalore.

Banyans are ecological linchpins – They sustain many species of birds, fruit bats, primates and other creatures, which in turn disperse the seeds of hundreds of other plant species. The artwork is created using 5kgs of recycled materials – discarded MDF sheets, plastic sheets, old flex banners.Eco solvent sticker, colours.

The BIG idea : Amalgam of LCD display panels, CDs, broken mobile covers and more. Over 5 kgs of plastic up-cycled in the making of the artefact.

Brand specific mementos – crafted using discarded MDF cut-outs and eco friendly solvent stickers.
Created limited editions of these timepieces for Sphera.
